Submerged Chain Conveyor System (SCC System)

The SCC is a system developed by Germany's Babcock Borsig AG and extensively used for coal-fired thermal power mainly in Europe.
Feature
- This system utilizes water seal which reduces no waste water under normal operation.
- This system is compact in comparison with the hydraulic conveying system.
- This system can handle mill pyrite.
Handling System
Bottom ash goes through a transition chute and drops to the upper trough of the Submerged Chain Conveyor (SCC). It is rapidly cooled and conveyed continuously to the outlet slope by a scraper. After dehydration at the slope, bottom ash is crushed and conveyed to a storage bin by a belt conveyor.
Cooling water flows to a circulating tank through the SCC trough and goes through a heat exchanger to comes back to the SCC.
