Kawasaki Circulating Fluidized Bed Boiler (KCFB®)
Kawasaki Circulating Fluidized Bed Boiler (KCFB®) is originally developed boiler for use in several industries. This boiler effectively utilizes waste plastics which contains high corrosive substances, SRF, RPF, RDF (including fluff-type), Tire-chips, ASR (Automobile Shredder Residue) and various types of biomass as fuels in order to offer high efficiency, reliability and excellent emissions performance for power generation and steam supply.
Benefits and Features
- Original Mechanism for Maintaining high plant efficiency
The unique and original technology of KCFB® is separated two cells (heating recovery cell and combustion cell) with a double partition wall.
Combustion is carried out in combustion cell only, embedded tubes are located in heating recovery cells only. The basic philosophy of this allocation is that embedded tubes is not exposed to combustion gas, therefore the tube does not contact corrosive gas directly and protect from tube corrosion. This unique original design achieves high plant efficiency with generating high-temperature and high-pressure steam conditions.
This technical design and original mechanism realize easy maintenance because the maintenance area is so limited.
- Stable output regardless of fuel calorific value
KCFB®, powered by our proprietary technology, enables to maintain stable combustion with various type of fuels such as wood biomass, sludge, and other fuels with low calorific value, high water content, and variations in calorific value, because the boiler has a large heat storage capacity of dense fluidized bed.
KCFB® offers stable operation with using extremely high calorific fuels such as waste plastic (SRF, ASR and RDF) and waste tires. These fuels are very difficult for some conventional CFB boiler to perform stable operation due to agglomerate material in dense fluidized bed, though, KCFB® have solution for these fuels by controlling bed temperature with cooling embedded tubes. - Fuel flexibility
KCFB® is designed to operate on wide variety of fuels, including extremely high corrosive waste plastics, RPF (including fluff type), SRF, ASR, RDF, and Waste tire chips to various types of biomass with low calorific value. Customer enjoys mono firing and co-firing among these type of fuels within specifications. Fuel change without major construction is applicable for KCFB after years in operation, this enables to reduce future fuel procurement risks and realize stable long-term plant operation.
