Exhaust Gas Purification Technology

Exhaust gas purification technology is designed to prevent air pollution by removing dust, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, and other pollutants contained in the exhaust gas discharged by combustion equipment.
KHI provides a dedusting system, a desulfurization system and a denitration system for treating the flue gas discharged from boilers and other combustion equipment. The flue gas desulfurization system removes the sulfur dioxide (SO2) generated by the combustion of fossil fuels (such as coal and heavy oil).
Having begun our R&D for the development of a flue gas desulfurization system in the 1960s, we provide a wide variety of desulfurization systems using, for example, the sulfite gypsum process and the magnesium gypsum process. We have also established a plant for the limestone-gypsum process, which is the world's most commonly used process, for large-scale thermal power plants.

Sewage Treatment: Blower Technology

In a wastewater treatment plant, activated sludge containing microorganisms is added to wastewater in a biological reaction tank and the mixture is then stirred by aerating it so that the microorganisms can purify the wastewater by removing any contaminants.
An aeration blower is used to supply air to the biological reaction tank.
Since the aeration blower is the most energy-intensive equipment used in a wastewater treatment plant and it is operated continuously for extended periods of time, it must be both highly efficient and reliable.
