Conserving Energy

Hydraulic systems are widely used in general industrial machinery due to their ability to instantaneously control a large amount of power. However, they have had long-standing issues such as improvement of efficiency and reduction of noise.
Due to the increasing demand for energy conservation in recent years, the method that controls the flow rate of hydraulic fluid ejected from a hydraulic pump by changing the rotation speed of the electric motor driving the pump rather than changing the capacity of the pump itself has been attracting attention.
In the conventional method, the electric motor for driving the pump was continuously operated at a constant high speed. However, with this new control method, which was adopted for the "KAWASAKI ECO SERVO," the pump is operated at a low speed when large flow is not required. This reduces the power consumption of the electric motor, thus consuming less energy and reducing noise.
