In the past, the management of ship operations depended heavily on the skills of the crew. Onshore operational support, safety management, and fuel consumption management were not always adequate.
Recently, however, a variety of onshore operational support services that utilize big data transmitted from the ship are being adopted to promote more cost-effective operations and safe navigation.
Moreover, with the aim of maximizing the transport efficiency of LNG carriers, KHI is developing a technology for predicting the minimum quantity of LNG that must be stored for use as the coolant for the LNG tanks and as the fuel for ballast voyages.
