KRC houses a 150,000 square feet manufacturing facility equipped for fabrication, assembly, overhauls, rehabilitations and static and dynamic function testing of all types of rail cars. Kawasaki Rail Car was one of the first U.S. rail car manufacturers to achieve ISO-9001 certification.

Due to increased demand for Kawasaki rolling stock, Kawasaki established the Rail Car Division at Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp, U.S.A, also known as KMM, in Lincoln, Nebraska. The KMM campus occupies 332 acres, of which, 733,000 square feet is devoted to the manufacture and function testing of rail cars. This state of the art facility is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 registered and its capabilities include carbody fabrication including MIG, TIG and resistance welding; assembly including truck assembly, interior subcomponent assembly, inspection, static and dynamic function testing.cars.
