Kawasaki to Open New Subsidiary in China

Tokyo, March 31, 2010 — Kawasaki Trading Co., Ltd. announced today that it will establish a subsidiary in Shanghai, China. The new subsidiary will enhance Kawasaki Trading ’s marketing capability in the rapidly growing Chinese market. Kawasaki Trading currently exports civil engineering machinery and equipment to China for infrastructure development. It also supplies machinery and equipment to China’s steel, shipbuilding, textile and other industries. The new subsidiary will give Kawasaki Trading greater mobility to respond to the needs of its local customers as it works to make further inroads into the Chinese market. The Shanghai subsidiary will procure equipment and materials in China, handle imports coming from Japan, and work with Kawasaki Trading ’s overseas offices (in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and Brazil) to export Chinese products. The new subsidiary will provide support to other Kawasaki group companies operating in China and serve as a springboard for expansion. Overview of the new subsidiary:
