Oct. 27, 2008
Tokyo, October 27, 2008 — Kawasaki Plant Systems, Ltd. announced today that it has delivered a cement plant to the Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Corporation (Vinaconex). Vinaconex is a Hanoi based corporation operating under Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction. The cement plant, which was installed in Vinaconex’s Cam Pha Cement Plant, boasts Vietnam’s largest production capacity with an output of 6,000 tons per day. In October 2004 Kawasaki, working in corporation with Sojitz, received an order for the cement plant. Performance tests on the plant were completed in July 2008. This was Vietnam’s first-ever packaged project (total 5 packages) and Kawasaki was awarded package number two for the Cam Pha Cement Plant’s major processing equipment, including the delivery of the cement mill and kiln as well as civil engineering, training and performance test. As the main contractor, Kawasaki fine tuned overall plant operations and made sure all major equipment was up and running at peak performance. Equipped with a high-performance dust collector and low noise, low vibration systems, the plant is a state-of-the-art facility that will not only respond to Vietnam’s increasing demand for cement but will also contribute to the environmental conservation of Ha Long Bay which is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The cement plant features a cement kiln that uses only anthracite coal produced in northern Vietnam and Vietnam’s largest vertical raw material grinding mill with a grinding capacity of 500 tons per hour. Vinaconex is Vietnam’s largest comprehensive construction company. The construction of the Cam Pha Cement Plant marks Vinaconex’s full-scale launch into the cement business. The company plans to add a second production line to the plant giving it an additional 6,000 ton daily production capacity. Outline of the Cam Pha Cement Plant |
