Full Turnkey Contract for Liquid Ethylene Terminal in Taiwan

Mar. 26, 2002

Kawasaki has concluded a full turnkey contract with the Chinese Petroleum Corporation (CPC), the leading petrochemical producer in Taiwan, to build a liquid ethylene storage and receiving/shipping terminal for its Chien-Cheng Petrochemical Station in Kaohsiung. The facility is scheduled for completion in March 2004.
Kawasaki will provide an aboveground double-wall cryogenic storage tank with a stainless steel inner shell that withstands storage temperatures as low as -100oC, and a protective concrete outer shell.
The receiving terminal will have a handling capacity of about 450,000 tons/year of liquid ethylene, and will consist of a loading/unloading facility, a vaporizer, vapor liquefaction equipment, and other associated facilities to be integrated with the tank.
Kawasaki has built an enviable record in managing EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) full turnkey contracts in this field through such domestic and overseas projects as LNG tank construction and engineering of LNG terminals.
It will continue to market its total engineering expertise in the provision of LNG terminals and other cryogenic resources around the world.
