Power Plant Division Receives ISO 14001 Certification

Kawasaki's Power Plant Division has received ISO 14001 certification for its environmental management system. The certification was granted by Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK).
The accreditation covers the group's development, design, installation work, commissioning and repair activities of power plants, thermal power plants, atomic power facilities, coal ash treatment equipment and heat exchangers, and related clerical work.
To earn the certification, the group organized environmental management systems for all its activities, which range from design and development to installation and commissioning.
After demonstrating its commitment to preserving the environment, the group received ISO 14001 certification.
In fiscal 2000, Kawasaki implemented the third stage of its Environmental Protection Activities Plan (for fiscal 2000-2002). Guided by the slogan "Working to achieve a recycling-oriented society, and pursuing eco-friendly management, " we are promoting environmental protection activities by introducing green purchasing, environmental accounting and other solutions to enhance conservation activities. Our aim is to continue increasing customer satisfaction (CS) and meeting the demands of society and the market by promoting environmentally conscious manufacturing and product development.
