Kumanogawa Delivered
Apr. 19, 2001
Kumanogawa, a 300,000-deadweight ton very large crude carrier, will be delivered to its owner, Galaxy Naviera Maritime S.A., of Panama, on April 20 at Kawasaki's Sakaide Works.
The fuel-efficient VLCC was designed with global needs in mind, making it suitable for easy entry at ports inside and outside Japan. It features the Kawasaki Rudder Bulb System with Fins (RBS-F), which can bring about marked improvements in propulsion efficiency and reduce both fuel consumption and resulting exhaust emissions over the long term. It also employs the Kawasaki Damp Tank, which can absorb pressure variations caused by propeller force, and reduce vibrations.
