Kawasaki Launches Small to Medium-Sized General Purpose Robots “RS025S”

Tokyo, November 25, 2025 — Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. announced today that it will launch a new model of the 6-axis vertical articulated robot “RS025S” with a maximum payload capacity of 25kg for the Asian market on November 27, 2025, in response to growing demand for small robot implementation centered on the electrical and electronics industries and other manufacturing sectors. This new model, which excels in the motion performance and dust-proof/waterproof performance required for assembly and handling operations, has been added to the R series product lineup of small to medium-sized General Purpose Robots.
The R series features compact arms while combining the rigidity suitable for precision work, covers payload capacities (3-80kg), and addresses various demands at manufacturing sites. The newly launched RS025S inherits the strengths of the R series while achieving a more compact robot body. This enables detailed responses to needs that were difficult to address with the previous product lineup, despite demand at sites with limited installation space or where multiple robots need to be installed as densely as possible.

1) Compact Design for Confined Spaces and Dense Robot Arrangement
The compact robot body achieves a best-in-class swing interference radius of 278mm. By enabling installation in more confined spaces and dense robot arrangement, it contributes to improved productivity as well as space savings through shortened production line length and line width.
2) High Rigidity Design
The high rigidity design of the robot arm reduces tip deflection by approximately 60-70% compared to the company’s current models (same payload capacity). This improves stability in precision work and contact processing that require high reaction force resistance.
3) High Dust-Proof and Waterproof Performance
Motors and harnesses are arranged inside the arm, waterproof connectors are adopted for connector sections, and all parts support high dust-proof and waterproof performance equivalent to IP67*.
