Tokyo, September 15, 2025 - Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. announced today the signing of a “Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation to develop a Japan-Germany hydrogen supply chain” with Toyota Motor Corporation, The Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc., Daimler Truck Holding AG, and Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG.

Signed at a cabinet meeting to discuss hydrogen convened by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the MoU aims to develop a hydrogen supply chain with high economic worth by aligning with Japanese and German demand, and promote the use and application of hydrogen across national and industry borders.
The signing of the MoU marks a further step towards the actualization and commercialization of international hydrogen transportation related to ports and logistics, and commercial vehicles in the mobility field, power generation, and many other sectors of industry.

Together with the MoU signatories and other associates, Kawasaki is striving for the development of hydrogen supply chains that are expected to be rolled out from the early 2030’s, and the social implementation of hydrogen in Japan and Germany.
Kawasaki will participate in the creation of a “new hydrogen corridor” linking demand in Japan and Europe, accelerate the international development of our hydrogen-related businesses, and help contribute to the achievement of global targets for carbon neutrality and the realization of a decarbonized society for a sustainable future.
