Collaboration agreement concluded with Taiwan’s ITRI for wide ranging collaboration in diverse fields

Tokyo, August 29, 2025 — Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. announced it signed a collaboration agreement with Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI)*1 on August 8, 2025 for wide ranging collaboration in diverse fields. The scheduled collaboration period is for four years from the signature of the agreement.

Kawasaki established the Group Vision 2030: Trustworthy Solutions for the Future*2 to describe how we envision the Group’s contribution to society in 2030. In order to provide solutions for social issues, our Group is focusing on three fields: A Safe and Secure Remotely-Connected Society; Near-Future Mobility; and Energy and Environmental Solutions.
In November 2024 we established CO-CREATION PARK – KAWARUBA, a co-creation hub for social innovation, and are working together with diverse corporations, municipalities and government agencies, and academia to achieve real-world social implementation of hydrogen and social robots.

ITRI is a world-leading applied technology research institute with a mission to drive industrial development, create economic value, and enhance social well-being through technology R&D. It boasts a track record of contribution to industrial development through the set up and incubation of many businesses, along with global reach. Under its 2035 Technology Strategy & Roadmap, ITRI is now focusing on the four domains of Smart Living, Quality Health, Sustainable Environment, and Resilient Society, and promoting innovative R&D.

With both parties already sharing similar goals in closely related areas, Kawasaki and ITRI will strive to offer new value and solutions to overcome various social issues through combination of our technologies, interaction, and co-creation across wide ranging and diverse fields under this agreement.
