CORLEO, a new type of futuristic, off-road personal mobility vehicle
being showcased at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai

The Kawasaki Group will showcase CORLEO, a 2050 concept model, in the Future Society Showcase project "Future Life Expo: Future City" (hereinafter, "Future City") at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai (officially the Japan World Expo 2025), which opens on April 13, 2025.

CORLEO is a new type of four-legged off-road personal mobility vehicle that offers exceptional terrain-handling performance, stability, and the joy of control – something that only the Kawasaki Group, with its expertise in both robotics and motorcycles, could propose. The rear legs move vertically independent of the front legs through a swingarm mechanism derived from motorcycle design. This not only absorbs shocks while in motion, but the rider can also maintain a posture that makes it easier to check the terrain conditions ahead. CORLEO is controlled and operated through weight shifts, much like horseback riding. With machine-assisted support, even beginners can safely and confidently navigate terrain such as mountainous areas and bodies of water – places where tire-based travel would be difficult without advanced skills.

CORLEO also uses hydrogen – a key solution for realizing a decarbonized society – as its fuel. Hydrogen is stored in a canister inserted into the rear leg section and is then used to generate electricity via a hydrogen engine installed in the front leg section. Through CORLEO, we hope to offer a glimpse of a society where hydrogen-powered mobility is a more familiar part of everyday life.

For its exhibit at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, the Kawasaki Group has adopted the theme of "Impulse to Move," based on research showing that humans are predisposed on a genetic level to derive happiness from the act of moving. CORLEO was conceived under this theme. Scaling mountains, breathing in fresh air, and enjoying panoramic views – CORLEO embodies the human "Impulse to Move" in the great outdoors.

At the Yumeshima venue of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, visitors will be able to see CORLEO striking a variety of poses. In addition, ALICE Rail will also be on display, capturing the moment when the ALICE Cabin – central to the futuristic public transportation system known as the ALICE SYSTEM – docks. We invite you to make a reservation to visit the Future City pavilion and come experience the future of mobility as envisioned by the Kawasaki Group.
