Kawasaki ships 1,000 units of combustors for the PW1500G and PW1900G engines used for regional jet aircraft.

Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. has achieved cumulative shipments of 1,000 combustors for the PW1500G and PW1900G engines at its Akashi Works, which are manufactured by Pratt & Whitney (US, hereinafter P&W), a division of RTX (US). The PW1500G is installed on the Airbus A220 regional jet and the PW1900G on the Embraer E-Jet E2 regional jet.
Kawasaki is collaborating with P&W and is responsible for the combustor which is one of the principal modules of the hot section, the core technology of P&W's innovative Geared TurbofanTM engine. Since the first product shipment in 2017, we have continued to satisfy with demands from P&W and other engine customers, which have now reached a milestone of 1,000 units in total.
In order to contribute to the development of the PW1500G and PW1900G programs, which are expected to generate strong demands over the long term, Kawasaki is increasing manufacturing capacity and capability of combustors.
Kawasaki will continue to sophisticate its engine development technology and strengthen production base through the manufacture of combustors as well as focus on expansion of the commercial aircraft engine business through further cooperation with P&W.
