Kawasaki Establishes Precision Machinery Joint Venture in China

Tokyo, August 29, 2024 — Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. announced today its establishment of the precision equipment business joint venture Eddie KPM Precision Machinery (Suzhou) Ltd. in China, together with Chinese hydraulic equipment manufacturer Yantai Eddie Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. (“EDDIE”).

Kawasaki draws on its expertise in the field of hydraulic equipment for construction machinery to manufacture and sell hydraulic equipment not only in Japan, but in China as well. The company currently has a locally based manufacturing company, Kawasaki Precision Machinery (Suzhou) Ltd., in Suzhou City, China. In addition to this organization, it will establish the abovementioned new joint venture together with EDDIE. Kawasaki plans to combine its technological strengths in the field with EDDIE’s outstanding production and material procurement capabilities for core components used in hydraulic equipment to attain a greater competitive advantage in the Chinese market.

Furthermore, by increasing its presence in China through this new joint venture, Kawasaki will become better equipped to respond to market changes, meet a wider array of customer needs, and make further contributions to the Chinese precision machinery market.
