Aug. 02, 2023

Kawasaki will sponsor the “Future Life Expo: Future City” Project, part of the Future Society Showcase Projects Exhibition at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereafter “the Expo”). In the thematic area of Transportation and Mobility, Kawasaki will showcase sustainable mobility that will move and inspire the people, things, and minds of the future, based on the concept of “Kawasaki Future World: Driving force for a prosperous society.”

A total of 11 sponsors will share their vision for the Future City of Society 5.0: a human-centered society that balances economic advancement with solutions to social issues through systems that seamlessly integrate cyberspace and physical space. In the five thematic areas of “Future City of Society 5.0,” “Food and Agriculture,” “Environment and Energy,” “Transportation and Mobility,” and “Manufacturing and Urban Development,” exhibits showcasing innovations likely to be featured in the “Future City” are planned.

Kawasaki’s Group Vision 2030 statement is “Trustworthy Solutions for the Future.” In order to provide solutions to social issues that live up to our customers’ “expectations and trust,” we aim to adapt to social changes in a timely manner and deliver new value.

Hydrogen energy is a particularly effective solution for realizing a carbon-free society, and the Kawasaki Group is building a hydrogen supply chain encompassing all aspects from production to supply. Moreover, we are developing liquefied hydrogen carriers, as well as hydrogen-fueled aircraft, railcars, and motorcycles, as part of our ongoing quest to create hydrogen-powered mobility throughout society.

At the Expo, our aim is to present exhibits that prompt people to think about sustainable mobility that will move and inspire people, things, and minds. The original purpose of mobility is “movement,” where the movement of people and things from one place to another evokes emotions such as joy and excitement. Our plan is to inspire such emotions through sustainable mobility and demonstrate its effectiveness in cyberspace.

Visitors of all ages to Kawasaki Good Times World, our corporate museum in Kobe, have enjoyed seeing and interacting with the vehicles we have on display. In the same way, at the Expo, we intend to create an exhibit that enables visitors to immerse themselves in our vision of sustainable mobility of the future and inspires hopes and dreams for the society of tomorrow.
