Directors and Executive Officers to Change

Tokyo, February 23, 2009 — Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. has announced that, based on decisions made at a Board of Directors meeting earlier today, the following Representative Directors will be appointed new positions effective April 1, 2009:

The Kawasaki Board of Directors also decided today that effective in late June 2009, president Tadaharu Ohashi will become chairman and Satoshi Hasegawa will become new president. And managing executive officers Yuichi Asano, Nobumitsu Kambayashi, Kyohei Matsuoka and Hiroshi Takata will be nominated as Directors at the Kawasaki Shareholders’ Meeting in late June 2009. Subject to approval at the meeting, they will then be appointed Senior Vice Presidents. The Company will also name Tatsuyoshi Ohgushi and Michio Oka as Corporate Auditors at the meeting, since current auditors Akira Tanoue and Hiroshi Kawamoto are resigning. In late June, current chairman Masamoto Tazaki will resign to become Counselor. Matsuzaki and Tamba will also resign their new positions to become Advisors.
