ABOUT SOPass

What is SOPass?

SOPass is developed to support ALL of those who are dedicated for vessel operation on land.
By analyzing and visualizing operational data of your voyages and proposing optimal voyage plans based on future forecasting,
this vessel performance support system contributes to improving voyage safety with less operational costs.

System configuration of SOPass

SOPass collects operational data of your vessel from the IAS, Data Logger, and VDR onboard and stores them in the data center on land, where the data is not only analyzed but also run for simulation calculations that are unique to SOPass.
SOPass users can view the operational status and results of analysis via a web browser anytime, anywhere. With a single click, you can send voyage forecast information to the vessel, too!

Pre Voyage

POINT. 01
Simulate your voyage plan

SOPass proposes the most fuel-efficient routes and optimal cargo operations.

SOPass’ unique model-based calculation technology allows you to simulate future voyages with ease and accuracy.
Not only the most fuel-efficient route (weather routing), SOPass recommends operations that do not waste BOG and estimates the optimal amount of heel for LNG carrriers.

During Voyage

POINT. 02
Keep it updated

Get your voyage plans updated daily with simulations using the latest information on weather and sea conditions.

The optimal route and cargo operation proposed pre-voyage get updated every day. The plan between the current location of your vessel and the port of arrival is automatically re-simulated on a daily basis to reflect the latest weather/ sea condition information. Get auto-updated plan recommendations anytime!
POINT. 03
Monitor your entire fleet

Track all of your vessels and access the latest weather information on a real-time basis

On the world map, grasp navigational details such as ship speed, horsepower, the positional information of SOPass- equipped vessels, as well as current ocean weather in one view.
Are your vessels operating safely and according to schedule? Monitor them in real time, in a visually comprehensive way.
POINT. 04
Fleet status monitoring

Vessel status, from cargo handling to mechanical troubles, is as easy as ever to monitor with SOPass

Each vessel’s cargo and propulsion plan status is displayed in real time.
Is the engine or one of the tanks experiencing something unusual?
Is your cargo, or LNG, being wasted?
You can simply check the SOPass screen to get all the answers.
POINT. 05
Analysis of propulsion performance and fuel efficiency

Analyze your vessel performance from multiple aspects.

With SOPass, you can check how well or poorly your vessel is aging, including the status of hull fouling and deterioration of equipment performance. To maintain the performance of your vessel up to standard, SOPass comes in handy to formulate the right maintenance plan for you, including what kind of repairs must be made and when.

Post Voyage

POINT. 06
Simulated plans VS actual voyage results

Compare multiple routes and evaluate their voyage safety and fuel- efficiency.

After a voyage, you can compare its actual route and SOPass recommended route in terms of safety, fuel consumption, and other indices. This will allow you to see the benefits of following the recommended route or to gain ways to improve your future voyages. It gives power to shore-based teams through insightful feedback for the next voyage.
POINT. 07
Track your CO2 emissions

How much CO2 is being emitted during your voyages?
See it with your eyes.

Estimated from CO2 emissions and voyage distance, CII values and CII ratings are easy to track. This is not simply for adhering to regulations, but to help you make better decisions for the future—CII analysis are valuable for cause analysis for evaluation results, fuel selection, and more. Profits will only be a byproduct of efficient, better decision making.
POINT. 08
Commercial performance monitoring

Be the first one to know whether the amount of BOG and fuel consumption are kept below the guarantee level of your TCP contract.

The guaranteed Boil Off Rate (BOR) and fuel consumption of time charter party contracts (TCP contracts) are also ready to be viewed in various graphic forms. Charts and graphs are readily available, analyzed on a daily and for each voyage basis. There is no need to be kept in the dark— Get one step ahead of risks of breaching contract and competitive world of LNG transportation.
POINT. 09
Automatically generated reports

Automatically generated reports in customized formats

A variety of reports, from voyage report to daily report, environmental report, and CII report are generated automatically, in a format that suits your business flow the best. Imagine how much this would reduce work load for your team, your company!
Voyage data can be freely downloaded, and readily available for your cause analysis for troubles you may encounter over a voyage, or for analyzing voyage results from the past.
