Large-scale GIGACELL Stack
Renewable energies such as solar power and wind power are answers to the increasing amount of CO2 emissions and the dwindling reserve of fossil fuel. However, these types of energy are greatly affected by natural conditions, and there are concerns that power grids will be overwhelmed by their sharp and large fluctuations.
Kawasaki has successfully developed the Battery Power System (BPS) for railways, and enabled stabilization and peak shaving of railway power grids. The large-scale GIGACELL stack is currently under development for purposes such as grid stabilization to provide new solutions in the environment and energy areas.
