Solar Power Generation

A major disadvantage of solar power is that it is affected by the amount of sunlight. GIGACELL added to a solar power system can temporarily store surplus energy for use as supplemental energy when there is a large demand on the system. This can help reduce the contract power price, by cutting peak demand. Moreover, in the case of a power outage, the GIACELL can provide power for essential loads.

When GIGACELL is installed in a solar panel system, power from the grid is used only when it is needed, ultimately reducing the contract price paid to power companies. Moreover, the GIGACELL can provide electricity in times of power outages in the grid.

Because the GIGACELL offers stable battery voltage when charging and discharging, it can share the same DC-AC converter as the solar panels, and can be directly connected to the DC section, therefore reducing installation costs.

The solar panel + GIGACELL peak shaving system at Yachiyoshoin Gakuen (a school in Chiba Pref.) enables the school to use PV generated power for peak shaving, cutting electricity prices. This system also provides an opportunity for the students and local residents to learn and discuss the environmental problem.
