Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) proudly brings over 40 years of proven experience as a global contractor delivering EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) services for LNG storage tanks. Since completing its first underground LNG storage tank (90,000KL) for Tokyo Gas’s Negishi Receiving Terminal in 1982, KHI has delivered more than 50 LNG storage tanks across Japan and abroad, including those currently under construction.
KHI has built a wide range of LNG storage tanks, including metal double-shell type, above-ground prestressed concrete (PC) type, pit-in type, and underground type. - The main components of the storage tanks are fabricated at KHI’s Harima Works (Waterfront Works), ensuring high-quality production with reliable delivery schedule management.
- The project management and engineering departments are located at KHI’s Kobe Works in the Kansai region, close to Harima Works. With seamless communication between the Harima Works and each department, along with feedback gained from years of experience and expertise in LNG storage tanks construction, we execute projects with a highly reliable and consistent framework.
