Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. has two shipyards at Kobe and Sakaide in Japan, and has constructed and repaired all types of ships, using extensive experience of "a century of shipbuilding" and the newest technology. Kawasaki has delivered various merchant ships such as bulk carriers, container ships and oil tankers as well as LNG and LPG carriers which have gained the high appraisal of the world thanks to its reliability and performance. In addition, since Kawasaki completed the first Japan-built submarine, we have gained the position as a reliable submarine manufacturer. In the field of marine development, Kawasaki has also developed and constructed the various research vessels and offshore structures. Concerning the sea transportation in the near future, Kawasaki challenges the infinite ocean through research and development of next generation energy carriers and environmentally-conscious design ships.
Furthermore, we established Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co, Ltd. (NACKS) as a joint venture at Nantong, China in 1995. It has constructed bulk carriers, container ships and oil tankers. Together with China's economic growth period, NACKS has grown dramatically and it has grown as one of the China's leading shipbuilding company, which has two dry dock from 2008.
