Kawasaki Presents 1400GTR and 5 Other New Models at INTERMOT 2006

 Tokyo, October 10, 2006 — Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. announced today that it will exhibit six new models at INTERMOT 2006 to be held in Cologne, Germany for five days starting on October 11.

Kawasaki will launch the 1400GTR as a new addition to sport tourers that are gaining popularity in the European market. It combines supersport capabilities on winding roads with long-distance comfort. Kawasaki will also exhibit its Ninja ZX-6R, an improved middleweight supersport motorcycle that has gone through a complete model-change for top-level circuit performance and the Z1000, a newly re-designed sport model with enhanced performance and styling.

Kawasaki will also present its Versys, a new model that has been rated highly by motorcycle magazines across Europe since its debut in July. The Versys is a high-performance sport model that provides riders with the versatility to travel on all types of road, in or out of town. Also to be featured along with these models are the VN900 Custom, a middleweight factory built custom cruiser*1, and the KLX450R, a motorcycle designed for enduro*2 racing.

*1. Cruiser generally refers to the classic American-style motorcycle with a laid-back riding style.
*2. Enduro is an endurance motorcycle sport where competitors ride on predominantly off-road courses.
