145,000 m3 LNG Carrier Order

May. 31, 2005

Tokyo, May 31, 2005 – Kawasaki Shipbuilding Corporation announced today that it has concluded a contract with Tokyo LNG Tanker Co., Ltd. and Mitsui OSK Lines, Ltd. for a 145,000 m3 LNG carrier. It will be built at Kawasaki Shipbuilding's Sakaide Shipyard and is scheduled for delivery in March 2008.

The 289.5 m long, 49 m wide carrier is equipped with four Moss spherical tanks developed by Kawasaki Shipbuilding that hold a total of 145,000 m3 of LNG. The vessel achieves this capacity level while maintaining a conventional hull size, thus allowing it to enter the world's primary LNG terminal ports. The order was based on that performance versatility coupled with the company's time-tested technological superiority in building and maintaining LNG Carriers.
