First NACKS-Built VLCC Delivered First NACKS-Built VLCC Delivered

 Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd., China (NACKS), a joint venture between Kawasaki Shipbuilding Corporation and China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO), delivered the 300,000 DWT double-hull tanker Cosgreat Lake to its owner, SG Jade Inc. of Panama, on December 20, 2002.

 The tanker, the first of two double-hull models ordered from a subsidiary company of COSCO in February 2001, is the first VLCC (very large crude oil carrier) built by NACKS, and the second VLCC built in China.

 Cosgreat Lake features high propulsive performance due to its optimized lines, rudder bulb system with fins and high-efficiency propeller.

 The second VLCC of the series, also under construction by NACKS, is scheduled for delivery in May 2003.
