High-efficiency 20 MW-class Gas Turbine-Driven Cogeneration Plant Begins Operation

A new GPC180 cogeneration plant incorporating a proprietary L20A 20 MW-class industrial gas turbine has started up at Kawasaki's Akashi Works. The L20A is a high-performance gas turbine that demonstrates Kawasaki's expertise in the development of both industrial gas turbines and advanced products for cogeneration and combined cycle power plants. Kawasaki is aggressively pursuing sales for diversified power generation applications in IPPs, industrial and municipal facilities.
With the new L20A, Kawasaki's gas turbine lineup now offers outputs ranging from 700 kW to 20 MW per unit, and covers power plants up to 50 MW. This lineup should meet all the needs of customers in the fast-growing diversified power generation market.
