Kawasaki Gas Turbine Asia Opens New Office in Jakarta, Indonesia

Apr. 02, 2018

Tokyo, April 2, 2018 — Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. announced today that its Group company, Kawasaki Gas Turbine Asia Sdn. Bhd. (KGA, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), had launched an office in Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta, on April 1, 2018.

The opening of the new office is part of Kawasaki’s initiatives aimed at accelerating its growth in the energy business in Southeast Asian markets, where rapidly increasing power demand is seen as a favorable result of economic growth, and also to strengthen businesses in Indonesia. Implementation of gas-based distributed power generation systems has been growing in Indonesia, in particular, owing to the country’s active investment in construction of natural gas pipelines, especially in urban areas and industrial complexes. As expansion of such demand is expected to continue, Kawasaki decided to open a strategic base for KGA, which will be spearheading overall business development of Asian markets.

Kawasaki is committed to energy conservation and to the improvement of energy security in Indonesia and other parts of Southeast Asia by means of its energy equipment and systems, such as gas turbines and gas engines.

Note: KGA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kawasaki, established in Malaysia in July 2005 with a mission to sell and service gas turbine generator sets in Asian markets.
