Kawasaki Announces Publication of the Integrated Kawasaki Report

Oct. 15, 2013

Tokyo, October 15 2013 — Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. announced today that it has published the first issue of the Kawasaki Report 2013.

Previously, Kawasaki has presented its management strategy and financial results in an annual report, and information on sustainability-related activities in a CSR report. These two separate reports have now been integrated into a single report called the Kawasaki Report.

Operating under the mission statement "Kawasaki, working as one for the good of the planet," the Kawasaki Heavy Industries Group is moving forward to achieve a unified management that incorporates CSR activities.

As part of this effort, Kawasaki offers the following new contents in the Kawasaki Report 2013, focusing on the compatibility and alignment between its businesses, sustainability and the mission to solve social issues.

Solving Social Issues through Business

This section introduces Kawasaki's products that contribute to society, as well as social issues that Kawasaki should tackle through its business.

Distribution of Value to Stakeholders

This section presents the value (benefits) created through Kawasaki's business and information on the distribution of value (costs or dividends) to its stakeholders.

To ensure all necessary information is fully delivered to its audience, the Kawasaki Report 2013 is published in three formats: a digest version presented in a booklet format, as well as a full version of the report and a detailed environmental report made available on the corporate website.

Kawasaki hopes this report will serve as a basis for dialog with its stakeholders, drawing out input regarding their expectations and requests for Kawasaki's corporate activities.
